I got a question here. HELLOOOOO!!
ok now that I have your attention
I have a yard full of walnut trees. I mean they are litterally everywhere. in the woods and all down the road
the prob is that I don't really want to husk or whatever it is called. the walnuts fromt he shells. anybody know what I can do with them? something creative? the entire things green and all?
last 2 years I gathered them up and piled them up next to my driveway..fully intending to husk them and crack them and have them but the squirrels and creatures robbed me blind hahaha. my pile was getting smaller and smaller so that not only did I work my butt off cleaning them out of the yard the first time but I had to go around and gather the half chewed shells again!! they really hurt when you step on them and the green walnuts well lets just say I slid on my butt more than I wish to tell. but after that I started walking like those little old ladies that are bent over and watching where I stepped.
I actually didin't mind the shells after gathering them cause I filled in around my stepping stones with them . not too shabby . well for a redneck that is haha
I will post them on the freecycle for those that would come and get them too I suppose. but don;t know how many want to do that. most people want them already shelled and cracked. not for me! a lot of work there. I might do a bucket full but no way can I do 5 or 6 trees full of them!
