Not only do my chickens eat constantly and steal corn but they also got all the peaches. they would fly in the tree and just munch away.. I thought it was cool.. I got zero peaches this year for me but they were teeny again this year.. and they had spots on them.. I thinned the limbs like , hopefully, they are supposed to be pruned.. open in the middle .. now hopefully next year the peaches will be huge like my first year here.. mmmmmmmmm yummy.. oh back to the chickens I would just get under the tree and shake some down before work and they loved it!!!

Mmmm, I would love to have a peach tree. I don't really know about how to prune fruit trees. I have read, once, though, that the branches need to be staggered so they won't interfere with nearby limbs. My chickens never got peaches, but I'd give them apples. I never had enough peaches to give away to the chickens... I ate them! Apples, though, I'd have a lot of them. My mom got tons of apples from a friend. (Poor thing is now deceased, cancer.) She would give mom peaches, too, but there was not enough to spare for the chickens. ;D

my apple trees are/were under the walnut trees so they suck and don't give me any apples..
I dug up 4 little ones and planted them out front.. one died already but the two are pretty good.. hope they make it.
nothing grows under the walnut trees.
